The double handled teapot design complements the double handled mugs which came about as a result of one M.S. sufferer seeing the regular large tapered mugs that Forest of Dean-based potters, Reckless Designs had produced for the Queen's Golden Jubilee. Philippa Aldrich spotted a prototype of the teapot on Reckless' shelves on her visit to meet potter, Kevin Burke. He had made it as a one off a couple of years ago but encouraged by the popularity of the mugs was persuaded by Philippa to make this new range especially for The Future Perfect Company.
