This year we were delighted to be able to run for the third year the “Designing for the Future” Competition with the College of Richard Collyer in Horsham.

Colourful Overbed Table by Uthman Mahmood
Uthmam’s product was designed for people who are confined to bed. He was concerned to improve the aesthetics of typical mobility equipment and re-designed the omnipresent overbed table into a colourful and playful addition to any bedroom whilst still maintaining its functionality with a lift off tray and numerous storage boxes which pivot around a central pole.
K-Ease by Michael Withers
K-Ease by Michael Withers
Michael describes his product K-Ease as “an ergonomic device designed to be an aid in two household tasks that are difficult for a majority of arthritis sufferers. The device is portable and lightweight and significantly reduces the effort and strain on the wrist when both turning a key and pulling on a ring-pull.” Michael used 3D printing to produce the prototype.
