Last month saw the latest Michael Aldrich Foundation x Drug of Art workshops run with charity Allsorts Youth in Worthing.
Craftsperson Elbie Owens facilitated two ‘Queer Joy’ workshops supported by Molly Aldrich-Wincer from MAF. The session involved reflecting on what queer joy means, how it feels and what it looks like.
Says Elbie : “Queer Joy is hard to express with words as it is a feeling/experience that is unique to an individual. Giving the younger people an opportunity to draw/paint/create helped them say how they feel without using words that are sometimes difficult to articulate”
Everyone, including the facilitators and Allsorts team, got involved, creating a series of wonderful collages which we hope to exhibit at a later date.
